Hoh River along Hwy 101 Hoh River Hoh River

THE HOH RIVER

The Hoh River is 56 miles long starting at the Hoh Glacier on Mount Olympus in the Olympic National Park and emptying into the Pacific Ocean. The river winds its way to the ocean down a beautiful valley filled with nature's bounty.

Rainfall at the head of the river is around 200 inches a year and at the mouth it is about 120 inches.

The following link will take you to the USGS real time water gage readings on the water flow in the Hoh River. This information is updated every hour and every 15 minutes when it's above 6 feet.

Fishing

The Hoh is home to steelhead and cutthroat trout, spring and winter Chinook, Coho, and sockeye salmon. We know all the fishing guides who fish this river and will take you fishing in their boats. They also do ocean trips, hunting and sightseeing by water.

The following links are two of the river guides who are very familiar with the Hoh River as well as other rivers in the area. Both have spent their lives in this area and know it intimately. They also have both drift boats for the rivers and ocean boats for ocean fishing or sightseeing.

The Boat Launch

Boat Launch

You can launch your boat right into the Hoh River at our boat launch. This picture is the boat launch in the middle of the winter with the river in flood stage. It looks a lot tamer - and sometimes dryer - in the spring, summer and fall than it does in the winter. The river is open to boating all year.
