DISTANCES AND TIME
From the Hoh River Resort to the following locations is given in miles and time. During the summer it takes a bit longer to travel here due to people enjoying the local beauty and the Highway Department doing yearly repairs.
Places north of the Hoh River Resort
Olympic National Park Rainforest Visitor Center is 21.2 miles and takes about 49 minutes.
Forks is 16.2 miles and takes about 18 minutes.
La Push is 31.7 miles and takes about 54 minutes.
Rialto Beach is 30.5 miles and takes about 51 minutes.
Port Angeles is 72.5 miles and takes about 1hr 20 minutes to the middle of town.
Neah Bay is 65.2 miles and takes about 1 hour 24 minutes.
Places south of the Hoh River Resort
Ruby Beach is 10.6 miles and takes about 13 minutes.
Kalaloch Lodge is 18.1 miles and takes about 20 minutes.
Amanda Park is 48.6 miles and takes about 55 minutes.
Aberdeen is 91.1 miles and takes about 1 hour 41 minutes.
Olympia is 140 miles and takes about 2 hours 40 minutes.
THINGS TO DO
If you are a nature lover, this area will keep you busy for a lifetime. There are hiking trails on the beaches and the Olympic National Park has hiking trails that stretch from one end of the park to the other plus locally there are 2 easy day trails through the moss laden woods with both starting and ending at the visitor's center.
The river is a magnet for fisher-folk from all over the world. There is also elk, deer, and bear hunting. You can go to the Hoh River link to get an idea of what this mighty river has to offer.
Forks is also home to the Twilight books. Twilight is everywhere in Forks. There are bus tours to all the Twilight points of interest and Twilight related stores offer all things Twilight.
If you have ever wondered the ins and outs of the timber industry, you can go on a van tour of lumber mills and related points of interest. The lumber mill tour is run by the Forks Chamber of Commerce.
La Push offers surfing and a sea port for boating.
For those of you who love racing, Forks has drag racing from spring to fall. You can find the dates at the Chamber of Commerce site.
